BOSTON BOOK COMPANY
705 CENTRE STREET, JAMAICA PLAIN.

Jamaica Plain is one of Boston's Municipalities located in the south western section of the city.

Look at the mapClick here for a Boston area map.

The easiest way to get to Jamaica Plain and the Boston Book Company is via Route 1. Within the City of Boston Route 1 becomes a lovely, tree-lined thoroughfare winding through Frederick Law Olmstead's Emerald Necklace. This road is seldom identified as Route l, but rather marked as the Fenway, the Riverway, and the Jamaicaway.

Turn at Pond Street on the Jamaica Way away from Jamaica Pond. There is a traffic light there in front of the large Boathouse. At the end of Pond Street (about 200 yards)turn right onto Centre Street. Go about 1/4 mile and turn right on Burroughs Street for the municipal parking lot in the rear of our building. We are located on the second floor . The doorway is on Centre Street next to the flower shop.

Click here for a view of the intersection. Follow the Riverway south until you get to Jamaica Plain, as described above.
  2. COMING FROM THE WEST take route 9 to Route 1 at the Riverway. A large rsidential complex called the Brookhouse will be on your right where route 9 meets route 1. If you go under the underpass you have gone too far on Route 9. See above for remainder of directions.
  3. COMING FROM THE SOUTH, Route 3/93 take the Ashmont exit, route 203. Take route 203 (Gallivan Boulevard) west to route 1 (the Jamaicaway). At Jamaica Pond, which will be on your left, take a right onto Burroughs Street. Our building is located at the end of the street on the corner. There is plenty of parking in the public lot behind the building. The entrance is on Centre Street next to the flower shop.
